How an IP Score can help business owners

There are a variety of tools on offer to help business owners rate or score their IP assets. This can often provide a good starting position or benchmark to help business owners recognize the value and importance of their IP

The EPO offers an IP Score which they describe as a tool to evaluate patents, technologies, and research projects.

Another free tool is the IP SCORE offered by the IP100 which they describe as an annual ranking of companies based on a rating of their IP asset strength and track record in exploiting IP. They state that the process begins with a free assessment of IP-specific data linked to the following IP asset classes: brands, software, patents, trade secrets and critical databases.
